Default 2001 Galant Vent issue.

I have a 2001 Galant, and my vent doesn't seem to work right. It always blows warm air. I don't believe that it's because of the fan blowing because when I push the button to make it "re-circulate" the air it stops. Is it a outside vent being stuk open, and if so how can I check or fix it? Thanks

Thanks. I read your post, but it's not the same thing. It's like a otside air vent is stuck open or something like that. I hope someone has some idea of what it is.

Did you trace the cable from the back of the temperature know to underneath the drivers side dash? The cable is connected to a white plastic "pulley" with gear teeth. That white pulley is connected to a small metal gear which is connected to a shaft that opens and closes the duct doors. Check to see if all of that is intact.

I'll check that out. I just replaceed the Temp cable because it was binding. This problem started well before that though. I'll look at that gear later today. Now that I know where the vents are.
