Default 95 Galant, 118k, $1600. IS this good?

Hi I was considering buying a 95 galant with 118k miles. They're asking $1600 for it, but I'm taking it to my mechanic tomorrow and depending on what he says I'll probably try to bring that price down. This will be my first car, so I'm not looking to spend very much on it. Is this a fair deal?
Thanks alot!

If theres no obvious issues,it doesnt sound to bad to me.I paid more for a 99 with more miles, though. Have you checked it on NADA? What options, tranny, condition of paint, etc do you have?

As long as everything is mechanically ok I would go for it, sounds like a good deal.
