I have a 2002 Galant and my temp gauage stays on cold most of the time then goes back to normal for a while then back to cold. I bought a new sender but NO ONE can tell me where the one wire sender goes. i have been told its in the head, the radiator and under the car. Can some one tell me where this part is located on a 2.4 engine.

 

Clearly an issue with the coolant temperature sensor.
