Need a little help while driving this morning my battery and brake light came on. I just had my entire break sytem done and my battery is fine. My steering wheel became very very tight and hard to turn. The car didn't stop running or make any strange noises, However there was a squeeling from time to time but now there is no squeeling. Do you think my power steering pump went? Or is this a belt issue. I have a 98 galant what is the price range for a power steering pum?

 

I am betting the serpentine belt stretched, and stopped turning the alternator and the power steering pump. That would explain the screeching, the battery light, and the loss in power steering.
