Default Losing weight

I think one of the biggest problems with the Galant is that it weights too much. How can you take some weight without losing the 5 person passenger capacity?

lol your not going to be able to save a whole lot of weight on the Galant. Your starting out with a ride that already weighs in at about 3,500. You can start with a cf hood and trunk. Lighter wheels. Taking out seats. Funny story but also in the glove compartment there is a heavy *** metal plate there. All this and your not going to save a whole lot. Stripping out the trunk including taking out the spare.

This is in reference to the metal plate in the glove compartment.

If I'm looking at section 52A (Interior and Supplemental Restraint System) of the service manual, what page and diagram part number am I supposed to look at? What is the purpose of the metal plate?

Thanks.
