My service center says that i need to replace my catalytic converter. I live in CA. He is asking me 800$ for that (excluding labor). But when i search different sites, i see the price to be about 300 $ only. But what i see is that they are not legal to be used or sold in CA. And unfortunately I do not see any catalytic converter legal to be sold in CA.

Can someone help me out on this? Is there any legal catalytic converter for Mit Galant that can be sold and in CA? If yes, how much would that cost? And let me know if the other catalytic converters can work in CA or not?
