Why would alarm go off if door is unLOCKED?
On a 2002 Galant, the passenger's side door was unlocked, but when opening it, the ALARM went off! WHY? That door has no keyhole, so it would be impossible to tamper with it.
My guess is that whenever the driver's side door is locked, any other door opening triggers the alarm even if it is unlocked. How stupid is that? Any thief would just smash the back window to gain entry to the car to bypass any possible alarm.
So, I guess the idea is, that a thief is going to test whether a door is locked to gain entry? I would much rather they do that then be trained to smash out a window.
What geniuses came up with this car? It's got 6 cylinders, sucks up gasoline like an SUV.. and it drives like a tank?
