My 2000 Lancer has the sticky heater control **** issue. Everything I can find on fixing it are related to 2003 and up Lancers. Is there a difference in the gears needed to fix this issue between a 2000 and 2003 Lancer?

 

I know this is an older post and unfortunately I do not have any good answers for you besides letting you know, you've got company. My daughter's 2002 has the same problem and she was quoted $800 to fix it.

 

Got the same problem, you can temporary move it with the head plastic unit underneath you'r steering wheel, next to right knee.
Of what i heard searching for parts, 2000 ---> 2003 are the same.
