2011 Lancer Stalling and Idle Issues
Coding on the camshafts advanced too far issue P0011 and P0014. Pulled both oil valve control solenoids, cleaned, checked resistance of coils (7.5 ohms), fired valves with 12 volts and checked voltage signal to valves, all good. Valves were pretty dirty so after cleaning I did change the oil and filter. Also cleaned the dirty throttle body without removing it. Didn't want to mess with the coolant lines. The result is the car runs much better, no stalling, idle is good, no "check engine" messages. When I run the code reader though, it still shows the two codes even after erasing them. Will the codes eventually go away or are they stored forever?
Has it missed some oil changes? These engines can stretch their timing chains with poor servicing, causing camshaft timing codes.
If faults come back after erasing then they are still active, and will keep coming back on
