Reading the sales sheet/sticker/whatever, I discovered my car is supposed to have a 6 CD changer.

I have basically every package on my car that Mitsubishi offers for the 08 line; sun and sound, and the navigation unit, but I can't seem to figure out how, or if I even HAVE that option. I've checked the trunk, I've tried to insert CD's in succession, but no luck.

Was this a mistake by the dealer? Or am I just not doing this right?

The user manual doesn't make any note of this at all, either, so if it's possible and they left it out, could someone help me out?

 

That confused me too when I bought the car. If you look at the sticker closer, you'll see the navigation unit replaces the premium sound's head unit, meaning no 6-disc changer. But you have the music server, which I guess more than makes up for lack of a changing unit (granted changing 6 MP3 cd's would be nice since the mmcs won't rip Mp3 CDs).

 

Aaaah, makes sense. Thanks for the help, I was ready to complain 3 months late.

But I'll definitely stick with the server over that basic option. MP3 discs are never the greatest with the pause in playing new songs, but if you invest in a CR-RW disc, it comes in handy to just continue running back and forth from your burner to the car over time for the tracks you want the most on your HD. At least, that's what I've done lately.

 

Yeah, the MP3 capabilites does take forever to read the CD and switch tracks. But I went ahead and bit the bullet and just burned 10 CD's full of mp3s so I'd have my entire collection in my car while I slowly let the music server rip the original CDs and new CDs I buy on an as needed basis. I'm optimistic that when I figure out how to unlock the HDD in it, I'll be able to manually add more songs to it, or at least upgrade the drive to a larger one so I have room for all my music.
