Default 2000 mitsubishi mirage de 1.8 spark problem

Hey all, I have a 2000 mitsubishi mirage de 1.8 5 speed.
The night before last I went to pick my kids up from their godparents. Car drove perfect when I parked it. When I went to start it the next morning all it would do is turn over. So I did the basics. Turned the ignition to on, listened for the whirring sound and nothing. So I replaced the fuel pump. The fuel pump itself works but now all it does it turn over and over and over. So I had my buddy come over who in turn brought his buddy over and we went through the motor, back over the pump and everything and came down to the conclusion that it wasn't the pump itself. Upon further inspection we found out that it was not getting fire of any sort to the plugs. So we took the distribution cap off and cleaned up the contacts and still nothing. We tried push starting it and it fires up then dies immediately.
Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions, or whatnot? All input would be greatly appreciated. my mail is xaphan83@hotmail.com or if you want to you can txt at 573-429-9927
no pictures of any dirty tailpipes please =P

I am sorry, i was mistaken. The car is a 1.5 not the 1.8/ I went out and got a new rotor and cap for it today. it's getting a good spark but now a bloop sound is coming out of it.
Timing maybe?

So an update. When the car is turning over I can hear the bloop bloop bloop sound coming out. It smells like its flooding and when the key is turned off the whole car shakes like it's having a seizure and a poof of smoke comes out. Im not sure if it's the timing or if it is super flooded but i am irritated to death. can anyone help?

I'm really hurting here, are there any sensors that would not let it start up? I sat out in it for 10 minutes tonight and i heard it dang near start up. it caught once for a couple of seconds then it just went back to turning over. I replaced the plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor. anything else anyone can think of?
