Default 04 Montero Limited timing belt.

I'm about to do my first 60k timing belt replacement. Should I do water pump, tensioner and idler in same time or those should be done next time at 120k? Any suggestions?

replace only the hydraulic tensioner, as its the only part that has occasionally failed.
Chances are you could easily make 120k on that too..

Thanks for your response. In that case I understand so water pump and idler should be replaced at 120k.
Also I read on one of the threads that Montero "can't meet new US rollover regulation" as reason why is not importing any more to US? Can you put more light on that issue?

FOrget the rollover issue. Overblown hype.

I replaced all recommended components at 60k. All components could easily go longer than 60k miles. But while you are in there, they are easy to replace. Its just a question on money...

When my monty hits 120k, I probably just replace the belt and take a chance with the water pump... My pump and tensioners looked great at 60k but I threw them out anyway. Kinda a waste of money.,..

Speaking of which, my timing belt at 60k was in excellent shape as well....
