Hey all, looking at a 2.5 '98 montero LS to buy as a DD. Currently own a Pontiac Aztek since new....the Monty has 170K on it currently. I've not laid eyes on it as it's a 4 hour drive. Trying to get a local to take a peek at it for me. So wondering what I should be looking for as a red flag? What are some common problems I'll have to deal with if I purchase this one at this mileage? Am I crazy buying a 20 year old monty in the attempt to use it as a DD? Any advice appreciate...I've done some research and have a fairly good mechanical aptitude.....I plan to DD it and improve it at the same time. tia
