2003 Montero 3.8 Limited HBB Brake failure

Hello all,
Brake, ABS and traction control lights came on with a loud warning beep while driving my 2003 Montero Limited 3.8.

Dealer read the codes and said it was a failed accumulator, paid 550 bucks to get it replaced. went to pick up the suv at the dealer and the sound came back again immediately. Went back to the dealer and he diagnosed and said they had installed the older version of the accumulator and that there is a new upgraded part #. Part is on back order and wont be here until next week.

From what I can tell, it looks like it could be the brake booster electric motor. Anyone has any idea how to check / replace the electric motor or a mitsubishi part # for it ?

Just been through this repair myself. What a PITA !

Why or why did Mitsi and others (Lexus, Honda, etc) install an old fashion electric motor on such a critical system!
