2003 Montero Grease Fittings/Nipples? 30k Service
Hello all-
Could someone please tell me the locations of a 2003's grease fittings/nipples.
My 30k service is coming soon and I will do it myself, just need a little info.
I received a reply from a Pajero owner that listed the grease points on the chassis. However, I think this is just for the Pajero and not the Montero, as I didn't have any of the fittings. Does anyone know if there are grease nipples on the '03 Montero, i.e. propeller shaft, suspension etc?
Thanks!
Jack

Can't help you with a 2003 diagram but I should point out that the Montero & Pajero are the effectively the same vehicle assuming you're looking at the right year & engine/tranny combination. Also Montero's have always been 1 year behind Pajero's in terms of model/features. That means a 1999 Montero = 1998 Pajero.
This means if you're asking a pajero owner to send you a diagram you should compare it to a similarly equiped rig engine and transmission wise. Example: in the case of a 1995 SR montero, you need to look at the 1994 3.5L DOHC AT Pajero.
Also, since I've seen plenty of Montero Sport owner's call their rig's Montero's they were realy only made for a few markets including US as a smaller option to the Montero and are definitely not the same as a Pajero.

Thanks for the quick reply! I do have to say that I must be blind, because I do not see any fittings on the propeller shaft or any suspension parts. Is it possible these are sealed units? Is there anyone that knows for sure?

I have an '03 FSM and it does show grease fittings on the propeller shaft. However, I have not been able to find them on my truck. My propeller shaft joints do not look like the ones in the FSM. The FSM says that all of the front suspension components are "permanently lubricated" so there are no fittings. (bummer)

I guess I'll have to look harder, since I can't seem to see them on the propeller shaft. Thanks for the note that the other parts are 'sealed' components. Do you have a pic of the propeller shaft points?
