2003 montero sport p0300

2003 montero sport p0300
Have code p0300 on my 03 montero sport with the 3.0 motor
It has a random misfire apparently
it idles pretty low and sputters kinda feels like its gonna stall
when driving it feels kinda weak and shudders a lot and sounds crappy when put in reverse it shakes and idles lower putting on the headlights gives it a harder time even
would misfire cause this? someone told me to change my plugs and wires
And the shuddering is common in the montero and other modles iv heard changing the atf and filter will fix that
I cleaned the throttle body and the air filter is clean so is the maf sensor
any ideas on what i should do or check? are plugs and wires the way to go it looks hard id like opinions before i do anything

Plugs and wires have nothing to do with this. It used to be a "fix all" solution in the old days when any and all tune-ups consisted of throwing plugs and wires at the engine. What is your Freeze Frame data on that misfire? Give all numbers you can pull from it.
