Default 3rd gen Montero - 4WD taking forever to engage?

Hello! I have a 3rd gen Montero (full size). The C/D light was flashing so I replaced the freewheel clutch solenoid. Now what is happening is when I shift it into 4H the front tire lights flash for a very long time. I have left it in 4H over night and it stayed in there with no problem. However, when I shift back into 2 wheel drive then back into 4H it’s flashing again. I think I bought a cheap amazon solenoid that’s why it’s doing this. Could it be anything else? Thanks

It's possible that your solenoid is not the greatest quality. One thing to remember - the vehicle needs to be moving when you are engaging 4wd. I find it works best if you are gently coasting going more or less straight (vs. under acceleration).
