Default 6G72 Interchangeability, cross compatibility

Hi all, This is a sequel to my post a few weeks ago asking about a seized 6G72 in an 89 Montero I bought. Engine is kaput. Needs a new one, no question about that. My question here is, which models of the 6G72 can I throw in my Montero without any issues? I am aware that I need a single cam early model. I also am aware that the 6G72 came in millions of cars, like even the early Hyundai Sonata. Hypothetically, if I found a sonata at a junkyard, would that engine work fine if I swapped accessories? I'm just curious how broad of a net I need to throw to find me a new engine. Any help or information would be fabulous, thank you!
