-can i put a 6g72 out of a 87 to 91 caravan into my 90 montero?

i am thinking my 265XXX mile original motor is about done and i cant find any monteros at the local wrecking yards but i know the same motor is in 80XXX mile caravans with trashed transmissions everywhere. i would like to find out from you guys if this will work rather than spend a couple hundred on a used motor only to be S.O.L.

has anyone done this?
any overcomable hangups involved?
