97 Montero Sport Clean EGR passages
I have replaced my EGR control valve and solenoid, but putting a vacuum pump on the control valve doesn't affect the engine speed at idle, so it looks like the EGR passages are clogged. The 1997 Montero Sport seems to have an upper and a lower intake manifold. Does anyone know whether the lower intake manifold can be removed for cleaning without removing the engine? I can't find any youtube videos about the lower manifold. On later models of the Montero Sport there is an electronic EGR valve and an EGR assembly that can be removed for cleaning, but not on mine. Any help or advice on how to clean the EGR passages would be appreciated.
