Default Belt or chain?

A 1998 Montero Sport is listed locally. I asked about the timing belt and he said this model has a chain.

Was there a 1998 V6 engine model that used a chain? If so, how can I tell?

AFAIK its still a 6G72, and its belt. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_6G7_engine
