So I was wondering, the 100 amp fuse for my battery blew out when i replaced my alternator, would this fuse being dysfunctional cause something in the transmission to not receive power? I ask, because i went up to the auto store to get a new fuse, and as I came back, pulled into my neighborhood(after about 4 miles) my transmission started making a grinding noise.

it is a 96 montero LS btw.
