Mitsubishi Montero & Montero Sport This sport utility vehicle offers more size than the other Mitsubishi SUVs, but manages to keep a sporty look and comfortable feel, unlike many larger SUVs.

Default I agree: the Montero rules!

I still have mine. It's a 1986 Montero 3-door, about 170,000+ miles. It is for sale only because I just don't drive it enough anymore. It is still the most fun vehicle ever. It's time for someone else to enjoy it.

I've owned Mitsubishis all my life, it all started with my Dads Galant, then we bought a 2003 Lancer ES, and now my most recent upgrade is the 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander. If there was a truck to trade up to it would most def. be the Montero

I just came back from Mexico and I saw several late model Montero's ...THEY LOOK AWESOME!!!!

Why in the world can't we get them here??

Seems to me meeting US specs should not be that dificult, (hell if they sell them in Mexico, how different could they be??)...Also it would seem to me NOW is the time to offer a full sized SUV with a 6 cylinder engine in the US....(even better if they would offer the turbo diesel)....

They are not going to be brought to US because there are many economical interests like GM, General Motors and other big companies that will NOT let that happen. It is the same thing Land Rover Defender. Jeep would have too many competition. I might be wrong but it is how I see it.

If this really is a "Free Market" they should let the people drive any car/truck they want at the best price!

It should work like that. But for some specific reason latest montero sports models don't hit US. If anyone knows, would be great to know that.

About the Land Rover Defender, apparently does not meet federal requirements for the airbags , maybe the Montero Sport doesn't meet any US Federal requirements.
