3rd generation 2016 Montero sport just gets an all-new design.
ALL new 2.4L 4N15 all-aluminum 4cyl MIVEC DOHC common rail with intercooler, and a variable geometry (VG) turbo-charger diesel engine which makes 133KW/430Nm, 178HP/317lbft. Pretty impressive torque for a 2.4L engine.
Paired with an 8-speed AT or 6MT. Rated UK FUEL ECONOMY - combined 6.6L/100km (42.8mpg-UK), 35.67mpg-US with a 4WD 6MT truck version(L200/TRITON, sold as Mighty MAX or RAM 50 in US back in 1980s). Since SUV version is not available in UK now.
As for all-new Montero maybe a 2017 or 2018 5th generation is on the way.
