I really hope the will bring back Monteros and do it soon. Mine ('01 full size) still runs strong, but I would totally line up to buy another one. This is by far the best vehicle i had ever owned or driven.

Last word I heard a couple of months ago is that it would be coming back - but it would be a "new" version with a hybrid power train.
I wish they would just bring back the Shogun / Montero they have in other markets today with a diesel.

You can buy this in the UK right now. It's known as a Shogun. They also make a 2 door version. Petrol or diesel. 4 cyl turbo diesel gets like 30 mpg and has 245 hp. Too bad tree huggers here will no doubt complain diesel is bad for the air. It's comical because some diesels are cleaner than petrol models.

I met the Northeast reg. mgr for Mitsu at the Phila auto show 2 years ago and he said they were going to reintroduce the Monty in 2015 or 2016. I'm considering going to Mexico to buy a Shogun/Pajero. I've even called Mitsu Customer Service in Cali and got nowhere.
