Hey guys im a first time user of this forum. Im 18 and have had a montero for little over a year now. Yesterday i ran into a little problem. I dont know much about the vehicle but im learning. I was driving last night and the montero started makin a humming like noise, as i stopped at a red light it died on me. I got it out of the road and left it because of the weather. I came back this morning and it wouldnt crank..but wanted to turn over. i looked under the hood and the driver side cam spocket was hanging lose. I took the covers off and the passanger cam spocket is turning fine. The bolt in my drivers side cam spocket snapped off in the cam. I was wondering what would make the bolt snap off into the cam, causing the spocket to come off? i would really appreciate the help!

 

somebody over torqued the bolt did you bend valves ???? since you do not want to tell us what motor or the mileage on it i guess you are s.o.l on the info thing and i see you live...... nowhere in america so i can not stop by and help oh well have a nice life

 

wow mxmikie you could of just asked me about the milage and stuff. like i said im new to this forum stuff. im just tryin to get some help on my ride. why u have to act like a punk i really dont know? guess u must be really cool huh? but it has a little over 200,000 miles on it. and i live in leesville, louisiana. thanks for the help.
