Default Bulb replacement in Front Combination Lamp

2005 Montero
As best I can tell, the Montero head light/combination light has 3 separate bulbs--headlamp, turn signal and side marker. When I use my aftermarket remote to lock/unlock just the tail lights flash. Nothing in the front flashes. The head light and turn signals work fine, so I think the side marker bulbs must be the ones that are tied to the remote. How do you replace them? I sure don't see any kind of easy access with the combination light installed and assume I must remove the headlight in order to gain access. Anybody already done this and want to share the process?

Thanks,
Richard

You should be able to reach all the bulbs from inside the engine compartment without having to remove the headlight assembly. It is a tight squeeze between front of the grille and the air filter (and in front of the battery on the other side), but it is totally doable. The bulbs come out with a quarter turn of the the base. If you check the bulbs and they turn out to be OK, then the issue might be with how your aftermarket remote/alarm is wired. Unfortunately there is no consistency in those and depending on how they were installed, they cause more issues then they solve.
