Default Car has trouble starting sometimes

My 2003 Montero Sport has always been reliable and started every time but lately it would have trouble starting after sitting over night, in the morning it would make a click on each turn of the key (nothing fired) then after a few minutes of sitting and trying again it started up but cranked very sluggish (sounded like the starter had some trouble turning over) but it started just fine the rest of the day.
This happens on the randomest days, it always ends up starting but I’m worried one day it won’t, the only reason I don’t suspect the starter is because when my endeavors starter went it still fired when I’d turn the key which is why I can’t pin point the cause of this problem I need a little help, I don’t know everything about cars just yet.
my battery is brand new I replaced it 2 months before this became an issue and my alternator is sparkling clean.

Start by checking/cleaning all contacts on the battery and starter. Check your ground wire on the battery too. It sounds like a weak battery, but since you are stating it's new, next most likely culprit is a bad connection.
