Default Catalytic Converter o2 Sensor questions

Hi guys, Just a couple of questions, just trying to clear up some confusion.

Within the last month I had my service engine light come on. Took it in and it said , Bank 1 Sensor 1, also Catalytic converter right upper. I replaced the sensor and planned on doing the Cat later on. I went in and had the code checked again before getting parts and now it shows bank 1 sensor 1 again? I understand that bank 1 sensor 1 is on the pass side before the cat. Is it possible the o2 is bad again or showing an issue because of the cat?
Also after some searching I found this "http://www.amazon.com/Blox-Racing-BXFL-00108-Eliminator-Adapter/dp/B000W1XX4M?tag=viglink20905-20" Does anyone have any info if this really works?

Justin, Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the passenger side pre-cat sensor. Since you've replaced the O2 sensor once, and you still have [i assume] the same exactly code - it is likely you are having a wiring issue and not a sensor issue. What is the exact code you are getting? As far as Bank 1 Sensor 1 code affecting the cat code, it is possible but not likely. If you have no activity of B1S1, the PCM disregards B1S2 data. Until you fix your sensor 1 issue don't try to figure out cat converter code. Later on when you get to it, I can tell you that from my own experience - cat converter code (once both sensors are working) means your cat is dead I have used the home made version of the O2 spacer and it worked great (stopped the "Cat converter efficiency..." code from coming back). You only install these on the post cat O2 sensors. My 2001 Ltd has 2 post cat sensors, I believe somewhere in '03 they've changed to a single post cat O2 sensor. You will have to check that for yourself. By "post cat" I mean it goes after the two small cats on the Y-pipe.
Post your codes and freeze frame data. Hopefully we can sort things out. Good luck.

Hey thanks for the info. I went in and got some cataclean. I also erased the codes. Around the 20 mile mark the light came back on. Its not showing the o2 sensor any longer its just showing the p0421. I erased the codes again and am hoping for the best from the cataclean but if it fails, the o2 spacer should work on this?

Don't hold your breath. It is still the same issue - old dead cat. Regardless of what the bottle says - Cataclean will not fix it. It may work in a very limited circumstances, say if you had oil contamination of the cat. Based on your truck's model year and I assume a gazillion miles, your catalytic converter is simply past its prime days. The spacers on downstream O2 will make CEL go off. But keep in mind - if you have to do emission testing - you will not pass since catalytic efficiency is simply not there.

Default o2 sensor connector location for 2010 Outlander

Anyone know where the o2 sensor connectors are located on 2010 Outlander? Looks like wires go up and inside the vehicle.

Usually connections would be in the engine compartment. Although I'm not familiar with an Outlander and I can't guarantee it. Do some Googling and I'm sure you'll find some info.
