Default changing AC belt

I have a 99 Montero Sport and my AC belt just snapped on me. I opted to save well over $100 for the Mitsubishi guys to rape me of and do it myself. I bought a new one and am trying to figure out how to release the tension on the pulley to get it on. Does anyone have any pointers on changing an AC belt? I would be very appreciative.

Thank a million,
Josef

Default RE: changing AC belt

It has an automatic tensioner, spring loaded arm attached to the pully. Just use a breaker bar to give you some slack. I have done this on Fords, I havent the oppertunity yet on my 2002 Montero.
