Gen 3 Limited rear climate controls - standard or option?

Gen 3 Limited rear climate controls - standard or option?
I am looking at two gen 3 Limited Monteros (2001 and 2002). One of them has the rear climate controls on the back of the center console and the other doesn't. Both are Limited with leather seats. Was the climate control for the back an option?
