New to the forum...just joined today...

I have an 88 montero that I drove in high school that is currently sitting with a cracked head. I havnt had the time or money to put into it but I'm getting tired of seeing her just sit and I am longing to be back behind the wheel. So I am wondering if there are any suggestions of motors that I can put in that will bolt to the transmission. I would love to keep it stockbut am having trouble finding a stock replacement that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Was hoping to find a junked donor and rebuild the motor. Any suggestions are welcomed.

have you tryied seeking in a junk yard if they have an 88 montero so you can buy the head?
