Help! What is this SOUND?
MODEL: 2002 Montero Limited
This morning, on my drive, I noticed this RANDOM SOUND that seems to be coming from behind my dashboard! The car drives OK, the engine isn’t overheating, my fluid levels seem to be OK, and I’m not getting any indicator lights.
Is my car safe to drive?
The sound is intermittent, always seems to be in that pattern, and I can’t reproduce it. It’s about every minute or so, not exactly sure. I can’t tell if it’s electrical or physical/mechanical sound.
I’m attaching it now. Would love advice and insight! Thank you!

UPDATE -- I was able to identify that every time I press on the brake, I hear this sound! So I went to my local O'Reilly's and a fella there (pretty knowledgeable) came out to the car with me and fooled around, and he thinks it's my ABS Accumulator gone bad.
Am I safe to drive my car for a few days? Also, is this a $$ repair? Thanks!

My immediate question was - is it happening when you press the brake pedal? You just confirmed that it is so. The answer is - YES it is your brake accumulator. They do occasionally fail. Just get a new one and replace it. Super easy job.
Get a bunch of rags or old towels to put under the brake booster area. With the engine OFF and ignition OFF, press brake pedal 10-20 times until it goes soft (to remove pressure from the accumulator). Then just unscrew old accumulator and install the new one. Turn on inition and prime the brakes few times. You're good to go
