Can anybody suggest a source for the keys, ignition switch and cylinder for a classic 87 Montero? The usual suspects sometimes show availability ($94 + $99 shipping fees!), but are always out when I try to order. Mine is failing. Original owner with 142k and still truckin'.

 

Check with your local locksmith. Some of them (good ones) are able to rebuild ignition cylinders and make keys based on lock pin configuration.

 

I called a local locksmith but they refused to do that work so i visited dealership for resolving the issue.
