Exclamation Mitsubishi montero 2004 front side marker lights/parking lights

I have a 2004 mitsubishi montero limited and the front 2 side marker/parking lights dont turn on. The back turns on and so do the lights inside the car but the front dont turn on. The bulbs are fine i tested them. What could be the problem?

Seems like a wiring or ground issue. You can check if you have voltage (12 v) at the front bulb socket and if you have a good ground there as well. I doubt that the front lights would be on a separate relay, but that is also a possibility. It could be that a relay controlling marker lights have a two separate load circuits and one (front light) is not engaging while back one works. Two ways to go about it - 1. find a wiring diagram and figure out circuit design. 2. Turn on marker lights and start pulling relays one by one until you find the one that controls back lights. Study the relay layout and see if it has one load circuit or multiple ones.

Just looked up a diagram for a Montero. Single relay for all lights and after it there are two fuses that control the circuit - one for left side and one for right side. Each controls both front and back light on the same side. Since you have both back ones working - I'd eliminate fuses as possible culprit. What is interesting that both front maker lights have two separate 12 v. feeds (one to each side) but a common ground. That leads me to believe you may have a ground problem up there.

Thanks! I checked the ground and it was fine but while doing so i found that both light sockets were badly rusted/corroded and they were not making good connection i guess. Replaced the sockets for each light and now they are working fine. I don't know how i missed that when i tested the bulbs. I would have never guessed. Thanks for your help!
