Default Montero Speedometer

Hi everyone,

I've recently bought a 1991 Montero LS and I love it so far, so I decided to get in with some other people that own these trucks. But there's one thing that's a bit of a scary problem. My speedometer flails around wildly whenever it gets up to speed and never displays the true speed.

Is there any place online where I can buy a replacement speedometer? Is this the correct solution? It's hard finding stuff for a model this old- eBay never has them for '91s.

Thanks a lot!

onyour problem, the cable is most likely to be the cause.
i used to use a longer speedo cable not made for my pajero but the shape is the same so there is no problen in connecting it.u can take it off and bring it to spare shop, ask for anything that is the same.maybe the length is different.as long as it is not too short,it will work.
u can put a bit more grease if u want but never put too much bcoz it will spill out behind the meter panel.

on my pajero, its very hard to take off and install as it runs behind the engine, under the chassis,etc2.

Thanks, I'll probably do that this weekend when I get my Chilton's manual for the truck. My speedometer is psycho...
