I have purchased a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Limited and i have noticed it is starting too run funny. i was on the expressway and i was at a tollbooth. I accelerated putting the gas to the floor and it revved in 1st gear at 5,000 rpm and in 2nd gear it revved at 4,300 rpm and it seemed 2 went into 4th gear making this weird hollow sound and the truck started 2 vibrate. It was weird[&:] Further down the road i floored it again while going 65mph and it stayed in 5th gear cruising. It was weird. This never occurs when i have the transmission when i have it in the sportronic mode. Does anyone know what is going on This semms to occur on a regular basis.[:@]

 

Is your Montero a 4x2 or 4x4?
