Need an Engine
Monty is being a bitch, i have a leaky head gasket, and for what I could sell the montero for, I might as well get a new engine. anybody know where I could find a junk yard in the bay area/sacramento that would have an abundant amount of monteros? i have the 94' sr. Everyone in my family is afraid to work on it because it is such a demanding car, i love it none the less. help would be much appreciated. If somebody does want it, i will sell it, but for no less than 2.5k. anyway, Thanks!

From everything I've been told, it's not easy to do a gasket r&r, just alot of work to get to it. If you're methodical and organized, it should be doable.
If you're looking for a local mechanic, and you're in the S.F bay area, I can recommend at least 2 that I know can do a decent job but it will cost you ~$2k for the work which should include replacing other parts like your water pump, belts, thermostat, etc.

Yup. M&S Recycling has been VERY good to me in the past. Fortunately (knock on wood) I haven't needed too much from them.
