Default New car radio

Want to install a new head unit in my 2001 Montero, I bought one from Walmart hooked up all the wiring harness and the radio did not work, the Walmart radio did not have a hook up for the amplifier and the antenna connection is different could that result in the radio not working?

Yes...What brand/model car radio you purchased. I've done all my installations, including my 2005 Monty Ltd., which had the premium, but not so premium, Infinity with CD Changer, amp, and 8" sub. Everything, except for the amp was mounted in its factory locations. Amp was mounted underneath the passenger seat. My system is:

Head: Clarion VZ709

Amp: Alpine PDX 5 Channel

Front Door Speakers: Infinity Kappa 60.11CS

Rear Door Speakers: Infinity Kappa 62.11i

Subwoofer: 8" JL W1v2

I made my own DIY interconnect wires.
