This car has been towed 3 times and driven limping to the garage twice in the past 6 months and we have only had it a year. Scary car to drive because you never know when or where you will be stuck.

It is a 2001 Montero Sport. Panel lights go out, car loses power, and dies. It will not start again for about 12-18 hours. At which time it starts and will drive for several days before it will do the same thing over. We have put in a new battery, our mechanic has replaced some wires, but it still does the same thing. We are told the alternator was fine. Our mechanic has been with us for over 15 years so we trust him dearly.

Any suggestions
