While I was replacing my antenna mast in my 2002, I installed a switch to control the power mast. While offroad I prefer that the mast is not deployed. There are often trees and brush that can brake the mast. I spliced into the power supply coming from the radio, and ran it through a switch that I installed in the dashboard.
Works a treat!

Better replace the whole assy since it is too much work trying to repair it. If the motor keeps on running, maybe the stop sensor is defective. Today I repaired mine and is a pain in the ***.

for the antenna running on...
The power module is under the glove compartment by the AC blower, if you remove the module, it wont run the power antenna

In my case everything was connected. Electric motor was working fine. My problem was that the antenna mast went out from the assy and replace this mast was a pain in the ***. Betterbuy the whole assy and replace the defective one.
