timing belt

Default timing belt

just spent about 2grand for timing belt and water pump and some other needed service. question: the timing belt looks brand new when removed why change at 60k ?? what happends if the timing belt snaps ?? does the engine implode??

Depends on the engine. If it's an interference engine then it will destroy your valves. If it's no, then your engine just stops wherever you are... which might be bad driving uphill, on a freeway, etc.

If it's an SOHC engine then it's relatively simple job (6 hrs) if it's a dohc engine then it might be more complicated.
