Default TPMS in 04-06 Montero good for bigger tires?

Hello,

I am thinking of buying another Montero for off road use, but I am only aware of the 03 instrumentation.

How is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System in the 04-06 Montero's? Does it show up in the console? How does it look?

Should I even bother getting an 04-06 just for the TPMS? Since I am thinking of putting 33's and and OME lift.

from my personal experience, I've blown my tire and i have never seen it come on, so I'm guessing there isn't one.

Can always buy an aftermarket TPMS . I bought one for my sports car and it works great. Search on Tyredog.

out 2006 Limited has always had the TPMS idiot light on. Odds are the sensors need to be replaced and reprogrammed or replaced and cloned. If the old sensors still send a signal, cloning is easy. If the old sensors are dead, then you can manually entering in the IDs printed on the old sensor into a tool like Autel 410 and then use programmable sensors or their autel mx sensors maybe, which work with the lower priced 401 tpms unit.

It's an old school trick, but you can use any size tire without TPMS. Just put a strip of black electrical tape over the TPMS light and you're good to go.
