Default Trying to hardwire auxiliary input to radio

Hi everyone! First post

I am trying to make a reliable way to listen to hook up my ipod to the car but have fallen short every time I try. The tape deck auto rewinds so a tape adapter doesn't work. And Radio transmitters just suck. What would I have to solder and where to get this to work? I have attached a diagram of the radio connectors to the speakers for convenience.

There's no aux in on the radio. I actually found real schematics for the radio and looked for a aux in on the circuit board, but even the circuit board uses a private chip-to-chip interface with no 'line level' inputs (like from an iPod).

I'm an electrical engineer, but I can tell you it's far easier just to replace the radio, which is what I did.
