Weird Noise

My mom has a 02 Mitsubishi Montero Sport,

When you push the brake sometimes there is a weird noise like a squeak. It sounds like the master cylinder is sticking or something to that extent. Anyone had any experience with it and how to fix it?

Any Help or suggestions would be muchly appreciated.
