Default Where to begin? ABS Codes

1998 Montero Sport 3.0L AT 4WD with Locking Differential

*Currently the anti-Lock stays illuminated.
I got Pep Boys automotive to scan the ABS system with their Snap On Tools scanner.
I don't know where to start.
I don't even know or can find the part numbers and locations of these sensors.
I think the ABS-ECU is actually built into the ABS Pump. I can't find a pin out diagram to Trouble shoot the speed sensors.
I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Shop servive manual that's useless because I need the Montero SPORT service manual with 3.0L 4WD.

11-Front right wheel speed sensor Open or short circuit
12-Front left wheel speed sensor Open or short circuit
15 -Wheel speed sensor I Abnormal output signal
23-Rear right wheel speed sensor Defective sensor
24-Rear left wheel speed sensor Defective sensor
25- Free wheel engage switch
26-Center differential lock detection switch
27 Rear differential lock detection switch
33 Stop light switch system

I've seen your post inquiring about location of ABS computer module on the '98 Montero. Not knowing this vehicle, i did not want to lead you down the wrong pass, and I was hoping someone with more knowledge will chime in.
I can't guarantee that a '98 is set up the same way, but on later year models (full size montero) the ABS is located in the center part of the dashboard. It is right above the transmission tunnel below HVAC controls. Perhaps your Sport will have it in the same place. Many late 80's and 90'th vehicles had ABS controller on the driver side under the dash too. Check both places.

Looking at all the codes you pulled from your ABS module, I do not believe you need to chase down each of them individually. And god forbid you try to swap out all the parts that are listed up there. I have no doubt that Pep Boys would love to sell you all the "necessary" parts, but I'm convinced that this is not where the issue is.

The one common thing with all these codes is your ABS module. There are several possibilities for what is causing all this: 1. you have a bad connection at the module. 2. bad power and/or ground to the ABS module. 3. The module itself failed.

I'd recommend you find wiring and pin-out diagrams for your year Monty. Then meticulously check all connectors at the module. If you are lucky - you have a bad wire somewhere. If not, you'll need a new module. It is likely that you can have your module tested and refurbished instead of buying a new one.

Do some Montero have the ABS ECU built into the ABS Pump assembly?
Mine looks like this and has a large electrical connection.

I believe you are right. If you google ABS module for '98 Montero it does show the pump/module. Interesting design. Never seen one like that. I think that's where you need to start your troubleshooting. Are you able to find any wiring diagrams?

I have not foumd ANY diagrams. I have the 1998 Montero service Manual but it does not apply to my 1998 Montero Sport 3.0L 4WD with locking differential.
