*urgent*!!!
Stealership says that my Bluetooth Handsfree is not under Warranty...The car is Just at its 5 yr mark and has 54000 miles on it. They say since we took a loaner I have to pay for the day or buy the pc. $900 w/o labor? Can anyone tell me where Mitsu is on this or what I should do. Thanks
I took a chance at you being in the US.
Here is the 2007 warranty --> http://www.mitsubishicars.com/media/...ty_booklet.pdf
On page 6 under Others it is quoted that anything Audio is warranted for 3 years in fact as long as the light bulbs on the car.
PS Canada has the same restriction in the warranty.
Maybe you can argue with the head office as the thing was probably never used.
I find you had a lot of "Wrong" with this car so you could bring that in the argument. (By experience I know there is a thing called "Good Will" warranty with every car manufacturers.
For the phone # or email some one else will have to step in as I don't know it.
Also it seem that there is a difference between used and certified pre-owned the former loosing the 10 years power train warranty but not the later.

Not that it's any consolation, but Hyundai which also has a 5yr/60,000 warranty has the same 3 year on audio. Prior to buying my Outlander, I owned a Hyundai Elantra and my radio started getting poor reception on the AM band after about 4 years. Took it into the dealer and the problem was in the radio itself and they couldn't fix it under warranty because the audio warranty was only 3 years.
FACT: a five year old car will come with faults.
Not pleasant, not good for confidence, but your car is not unique.
You've already spent money fixing problems. Stick with the car and don't lose more money trading it yet. My NEW Outlander came with faults! Now they are sorted they are forgotten.
Don't waste money on the OEM Bluetooth unless you can get the module super cheap. Like most OEM kit it's not the best.
For what it's worth I have this fitted in my BMW M5. It's the best Bluetooth kit I have ever used in many many years (I was an early adopter), and is super cheap right now.

I totally agree with that statement. The aftermarket ones are generally better quality. I like Parrot, but there are plenty of options out there. The only downside of aftermarket ones is that it will involve a little more effort to fit it - not too bad though - I have fitted handsfree kits in loads of cars and it usually straightforward. Sometimes you do need to buy an additional wiring harness depending on the model, so take that into account when pricing it.
