04 outlander idle
Hello, Im new here after changing my loved pajero for an Outlander.
Outlander SE Sport 2004. LPG
My idle is shocking. once warm it is not to bad. i have an engine light on which turned out to be cyl 4 missfire. cleared the fault and swapped the coils around to see if it happens again.
i have been reading a few things, on it tappet issues and the other is the ICV.
I have tried to find it but i have no idea where to looks. someone said by the throttle but my throttle wire goes the the topleft side of engine bay so a coil spring that has an electronic gizmo on the end.
would some one please point me in the right direction.
local dealer wants £91 plus vat per half hour and wants 1.5 hours just to run dymog before he works on it.
my pockets are very shallow. he he.
thanks guys for any help you can offer.

Hi,
Did you ever find out where the ICV was located, I posted the same question (see below), with a reply it's on or near the throttle body and it could be cleaned, not a lot of help.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the reply, the photo you posted showing under your bonnet appears to be the same as mine, it's odd that we can't get a positive response on the forum to what should be a straight forward question.
I notice you mention the "Bonnet" are you from the UK? We moved from the UK to Canada years ago, BIG mistake.

Easiest way to find the ICV is to go online to a parts store and look up the ICV, sometimes referred to as the IAC (Idle Air Control). If you cannot find a picture of the part, you may need to try googling "oem mitsubishi parts" and see if they show one in a diagram.
Once you have the picture of what you are looking for, remove the black cover that is above the silver cover (valve cover). That will expose the intake plenum and throttle body. Somewhere on the throttle body will be your ICV/IAC. It is relatively small, maybe about the size of your thumb, generally attached by 2 small bolts, and has 1 wire harness connected to it.
There are not many 1G owners around here, mostly 2G owners.
