'07 Outlander Bluetooth Question
I got my kit from the local dealer for $207 matching the eBay dealer. Took 15 minutes to install it and over an hour at the dealer while they turned the damn thing on! They wanted $90 programming fee which I negotiated to $45. Works great and must say quite an impressive hands on system.
I was at my dealer today getting an alignment done, and I asked about the bluetooth and they said the best they could do on the price of the module was $250 cause they don't stock them, and that the dealer selling them on eBay for $207 was because they probably had a bunch in stock. They also to tried say that the programming would be $90, but I called the other dealer in town and they said that they'd do it for $50. Now I just have to convince the wife how necessary the bluetooth is.
I have the bluetooth module / unit for sale, find my advert in the classifides section.
To fit it, you pop the 2 center air vents out, undo the 4 screws holding the radio/nav in place, pull the radio/nav out, look through the hole and down.
The module sits behind the controls for the air. There are 4 posts sticking up, 2 have pins that locate the module, the other 2 have holes for a couple of screws to hold it in place.
To the side of where the module sits will be a single plug, it may be floting or taped back, if its's taped back just unwrap the tape. Plug the plug into the bluetooth box.
Put back together again.
I have done this job in less than 30mins including coffee.
If you also need to fit the phone buttons on the steering wheel allow another 30-40mins.
I have fitted this to a outlander 2007, with mmcs and fosgate amp and no reprogramming was needed. On a base version we did need to program it.
$50 sounds ok but it does not actuall cost them anything (apart from time) to do.
If you get the car serviced by them I normally get them to do the programming free as part of the service deal!

I really wish that Mitsu's programming tool, MUT III, wasn't $3500 and individual owners readily had them and could help each other out, much like in the VW/Audi community where the dealer tool VCDS (VAG-Com) is relatively inexpensive and many enthusiasts have one.
I just bought a 2007 Outlander LS that is pre-wired for bluetooth. The dealership is telling me that they do not know what they need to buy to make it work. I know that they need to get a hands-free module. Does anyone know where I can get the part number that they need to order?
