I think I saw a kit price that includes all of the necessary trim parts, pieces, and of course the head unit for $2,400 from Mitsubishi.

 

how does the routing goes? is better than or similar to the garmins?

Also, does it have a feature like the garmin has such as "Gas Stations, schools, lakes, parks, automotive, airports, etc"?

Where one touch of the screen shows the nearest that you want and directions?

For anyone that have a garmin, you know what I mean.

 

There's a POI (point of interest) button that puts icons for those things you mentioned on the map and when touched gives names/descrption.

I like the Nav system a lot, other than the fact the maps are sooutdated. This is my first Nav system and seems to have lots of cool features. Of course these may be common on other Nav systems. For instance, if you start on a set route and deviate from it the map automatically updates to the next alternative route from where you are now. The POI's and the ability to include/exclude major routes and tolls from your trip. The scroll and pan in/out feature is nice too. Allows you to see what's coming up or to get an idea where your currentposition is compared to where you're going.

If the Nav wasn't part of the fullMMCS pkg i probably would have skipped it justto save money. The $2400 is heavy price tag, albeit mine was pretty much free with my deal. You can get a Garmin or TomTom for a 1/6 of the MMCS price plus it's portable.

With the whole MMCS added afterwards i'm not sure what you have to hook up to make it fully functional. I'd assume all the wiring is already in place and it's just plug-n-play.
